E-Rate Funding Increase Approved by FCC

Today, the FCC voted to approve the recommendation by Chairman Wheeler to increase E-rate funding by an additional $1.5 billion. As noted in previous updates, E-rate funding is crucial to schools to install high-speed fiber optic connections, install Wi-Fi hot spots, and upgrade other network infrastructure. These upgrades will help our schools stay globally competitive in the 21st Century and prepare students with a broader set of resources readily available over high speed networks.
